Your First Visit

Your first visit to our office will be for the purpose of a thorough oral examination and an opinion as to whether orthodontic treatment is necessary. If it appears that treatment is needed at this time, diagnostic records will be taken during this visit. During your conference with Dr. Spannhake, an estimated length of time for treatment will be given. Based on experience this is usually accurate, depending on the cooperation received from the patient. The treatment fee will also be quoted and financial arrangements will be reviewed.

We ask that your family dentist send us a recent digital copy of your or your child’s panoramic growth image prior to your new patient examination. We also request that you complete the health history form available on our website under New Patient Forms. You may send it to us via email or facsimile or simply print it out and bring it with you to your new patient examination appointment.

If you are a member of a dental care plan that covers orthodontic treatment, please bring your coverage information with you to the new patient examination appointment. In addition, your dental care plan may require you to bring a specialty referral from your family dentist to receive your orthodontic benefit.
